Colour Without Colour

I challenged myself to explore the theme of colour for my major project, producing interactive resources to encourage discussion around our colour associations. By stripping away colour, the brain is invited to fill in the blanks, influenced by memory, culture, and personal experience. As part of my primary research, I carried out a survey, using shape, texture, and emotion as prompts and asking 100 people what colours they associated with each. These responses were then included as statistics within the book and game, encouraging people to compare their own ideas with the majority, and question what influenced those perceptions. The card game then introduced some more thought provoking challenges in an interesting way. In order to get rid of any subconscious influences, my resources adopted a black and white, minimalistic style with an understated font, drawing all focus to the content.
